Sangeetha was earlier known as Rasika which was her screen name for few of her movies before Pithamagan. She comes has a filmy backdrop that her grandfather and father had produced several movies in tamil.
Sangeetha had learned Bharatanatyam during her school days and she's an excellent dancer who has proved her skills in cinema too. Her knowledge in dance has helped her do the judging job perfect in television dance reality shows in Tamil like Vijay Tv's JODI Number 1 series.Award winning movie Pthamagan, directed by ace director Bala helped Sangeetha get noticed by audience and media, even though she had made her debut in mid-90s in South India through a Malayalam movie.
